Frequently asked questions
Which cameras does RevelRaw support?
RevelRaw is optimized for Sony Alpha cameras (.ARW files), but it supports any RAW format that macOS can decode natively, including Canon (.CR3), Nikon (.NEF), and Fuji (.RAF).
Does RevelRaw require an internet connection?
No. Everything runs locally on your Mac — RAW decoding, preset processing, scene detection, and export. No cloud, no accounts, no uploads.
What export formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG, TIFF (8-bit and 16-bit), and HEIF. Platform presets auto-configure the right format, size, and quality for Instagram, Flickr, 500px, Adobe Stock, Print, and Web.
How does the scene detection work?
RevelRaw uses Apple's Vision framework to classify the content of your photo (landscape, portrait, urban, nature, etc.) and then ranks the 24 presets so the most relevant ones appear first.
Can I fine-tune the presets?
Yes. Every preset is a starting point. You get full control over exposure, contrast, tone curve, split toning, HSL, clarity, sharpening, grain, vignette, and more. Undo/redo is fully supported.
What macOS version is required?
RevelRaw requires macOS 15.0 (Sequoia) or later for full feature support, including the latest Core Image and Vision framework capabilities.
Is RevelRaw free?
RevelRaw will be available on the Mac App Store. Pricing details will be announced at launch.
